Baguio City will no longer host the first phase of Manny Pacquiao’s training camp, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum said.

Arum is lining up Pacquiao for a Nov. 10 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas against a soon-to-be-named opponent and the Top Rank chief disclosed that, based on his conversation with the 33-year-old Filipino star in General Santos City recently, the fighter will immediately kick off his preparation after he goes on a multi-city promotional tour beginning Sept. 4 in Los Angeles.

“After the press tour, Manny will go straight to the Wild Card,” said Arum.

Pacquiao has utilized Baguio City as the site of the initial stage of his buildup but Arum said trainer Freddie Roach’s famous sweat shop on Vine Street will play host to Pacquiao for eight solid weeks.

Arum said an announcement is expected anytime this week regarding Pacquiao’s next rival.

Meanwhile, the proposed matchup with Floyd Mayweather should happen in April 2013, according to Arum.

Mayweather has just been released from prison after serving two months of a three-month sentence.
