Mixed martial arts fan know Dana White as someone who isn’t afraid of speaking his mind. But while he’s taken some shots at boxing over the years, White had always gushing affection for our pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.
In an interview with WFAN in New York, he talked about what’s right with boxing (Pacquiao) and what’s wrong with the sport (Floyd Mayweather):

I’m a huge, huge Manny Pacquiao fan. He is boxing right now. Floyd Mayweather, and Floyd and I go way back and I told Floyd to his face too, Floyd is one of the big problems with boxing. Holding out, not taking this fight with Manny Pacquiao, and doing what he’s doing. I think Manny Pacquiao is boxing. Everything about him is positive and I love the guy.

The enmity between White and Mayweather stretches back a few years, when the boxing villain was quoted saying that MMA was inferior to the sweet science. “UFC’s champions can’t handle boxing,” Mayweather reportedly said. “That’s why they are in UFC.”

As for Pacquiao, while we do know that he had previously trained with UFC star Georges St. Pierre, we have no idea how he really feels about MMA. For all we know, he could be the type who wakes up early in the morning to catch the live broadcasts of UFC events in the Philippines, or his favorite type of UFC might be the banana-ketchup kind.
