MANILA, Philippines (1st UPDATE) - The Philippine team lost to Poland in the knockout stage of the 2011 Homeless World Cup on Thursday.
ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau’s Bong Agustinez reported that the Filipinos yielded to the Polish footballers, 1-11.
The Philippines will go up against a crucial match against Scotland later in the day.
It will need to score 2 more wins in the knockout stage to advance to the medal round.
Kasi pag natalo tayo doon medyo mawawala tayo kasi bukas Brazil at Portugal [ang makakalaban], mas matindi ‘yun,” said Agustinez.
The Filipinos earlier beat Croatia in their opening game in the knockout stage.
The Philippines is clustered with Croatia, Portugal, Scotland, Poland and Brazil in Group C.
