MANILA, Philippines – Boxing coach Freddie Roach already has a clear picture of who he wants Manny Pacquiao to fight next if the Filipino decisively wins over Brandon Rios this November.

“Marquez,” was his reply to Fight Hub TV when asked about Pacquiao’s possible foe after the Rios fight.

The trainer was referring to Juan Manuel Marquez who knocked out the fighting congressman eight months ago.

Roach said he feels Marquez should extend the same courtesy Pacquiao has given to the Mexican, who was granted two rematches in their four-fight rivalry.

“Before he won the last fight he always wanted a rematch... I think we deserve one more shot back. If he isn’t fighting then he's [scared],” said Roach.

Marquez has repeatedly mentioned that he see no point in fighting Pacquiao again after their fourth face-off.

When asked why they aren’t going directly to Floyd Mayweather Jr., Roach said a victory over Marquez will bring them to that direction.

“I think a win over Marquez will push us a little bit closer [to Mayweather],” he said.
