Source : Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – After Brooklyn Nets starting center Brook Lopez, one more NBA star will pay a visit to the country and hopefully not the last one before the league tips off in November.
Boston Celtics star point guard Rajon Rondo will be here on Tuesday and Wednesday as an endorser of the popular energy drink Red Bull.
Rondo’s whirlwind two-day visit in the country, which has been arranged by Red Bull, will include a camp with select NCAA and UAAP players and an exclusive meet-and-greet for three lucky fans.
“What’s up MANILA?! Who’s ready to meet Red Bull athlete RAJON RONDO?! We’re looking for Rondo’s three biggest fans to join us for an exclusive meet & greet with #MrTripleDouble himself on TUESDAY 28th AUGUST!!! Get yourself a can of #Blue&Silver and show us how much you love Red Bull product of Europe… Three most epic photos will be chosen as our winners! Entries close 6pm Sunday 26th August… #redbullgivesyouwings,” posted by Red Bull Philippines official twitter account (@RedBullPh) yesterday.
Reports of Rondo’s Philippine visit have been circulating in the social media networks as early as last week. Red Bull Philippines confirmed the news when their twitter account posted this along with a photo of Rondo: “Wow Manila looks like you're as stoked as we are! Red Bull from Europe got you covered! Blue & Silver is where it's at!”
Last weekend, Lopez was here to grace the NBA 3x event while last month, Miami Heat champion coach Erik Spoelstra returned to country for his championship trophy tour. Earlier, Chicago Bull great Scottie Pippen led a barsntorming team composed of NBA legends that included Dennis Rodman, Horace Grant and Mitch Richmond among others and played an exhibition game against PBA legends. Last summer, another NBA legend and former Chicago Bull Luc Longley went here to grace the launch of the NBA Philippines website.
