MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is setting up the Philippine Azkals for a four-game stint in the US this coming August.
PFF President Mariano Araneta said the friendly games wrapped in a 15-day training camp will help prepare the Azkals for the coming Long Teng Cup in October and the AFF Suzuki Cup in November.
“The 15-day training camp and the friendly matches are good opportunities for our team because it will make them tougher,” said Araneta in ASEAN Football.
Among the teams the Azkals will be facing in the US are the Chicago Fire and US Virgin Islands squads.
Araneta said the Filipino side would need thorough preparations especially for the Suzuki Cup.
“The AFF Suzuki Cup is the most competitive tournament in ASEAN, so we need to prepare seriously.”
