PBA Trade Rumor : Lassiter to Petron

Source : Nelson Beltran (The Philippine Star)

MANILA, Philippines - Prolific rookie Marcio Lassiter is on his way to Petron Blaze if persistent reports are true.

No official from both Powerade and Petron Blaze has come out to make an official announcement, but reports said the two teams have reached an agreement for a trade sending Lassiter to the Boosters camp in exchange for Noy Baclao and Rey Guevarra.

The trade is subject to the approval of PBA commissioner Chito Salud who is currently out of the country.

PBA media bureau chief Willie Marcial said they have yet to receive official communication from either Powerade or Petron Blaze.

A ranking SMC official, however, insisted on his twitter account that a deal is done and they’re just awaiting the approval of the league commissioner.

An agent of a player involved, meanwhile, said he’s been advised of the trade.

The reported trade came on the heels of a separate report regarding the supposed agreement for the re-sale of the Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc. franchise to the SMC Group.

Some teams have expressed concern on this news.

One board member has already sent the league commissioner a text message requesting for an emergency board meeting.

“I will be respectfully writing a letter within the next few days to request for an emergency meeting given the disturbing developments as written in the media,” said the governor.
