Petron Blaze arrested a three-game losing skid by outlasting Alaska, 86-80, in the 2011 PBA Philippine Cup in Lapu Lapu City, Cebu on Saturday.

Joseph Yeo came through with his best game in years, unloading 27 points to help the Boosters snapped a three-game losing streak. Petron improved its win-loss card  to 4-3.

The man known as “The Ninja” added nine rebounds and four assists in what was easily his most productive game since moving to the San Miguel franchise.

Alex Cabagnot and Denok Miranda combined for 28 points as the Boosters handed the Aces their sixth loss in  seven matches.

The win proved to be big for Petron, which missed the services of prized rookie Chris Lutz. The former SMART Gilas-Pilipinas national team standout sat out the game due to a strained harmstring, which he sustained during his team’s game against Meralco.

But with Yeo stepping up, Petron hardly missed the services of their productive newcomer.

“Yeah, this is a big win,” posted Lutz on his Twitter account. “Joseph Yeo played big (Saturday night). I wish I was there, would have been awesome in front of the crowd, but will be back on Wednesday.”
