The Energen Pilipinas Under-16 national team are stamping their class on their side of the bracket in the second round of the FIBA Asia Under-16 Championships in Nha Trang City, Vietnam.

Facing weaker competition in their third straight game, the Filipino youths posted another masterful performance against Qatar, 107-28, to remain atop the Group F leaderboard.

Energen Pilipinas came out swinging from the opening tip, scoring the first 17 points in the game. They would later mount a 27-0 run to go up by 41 points early in the 2nd quarter.

Diputado thrilled the sparse late-game crowd in the third quarter when he banked in a difficult, twisting layup with plenty of english against two defenders, one of whom was called for an unsportsmanlike foul.

Hubert Cani, in his first start of the tournament, led the Philippine team with 18 points. Diputado added 16 while Jordan Heading and Andrei Caracut scored 13 apiece.
