WNBA Playoffs 2011 : West and East Finals set



After a hard fought conference semis. The WNBA Conference Finals cast are now complete. In the East, it will be the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream. In the West, it is the Phoenix Mercury vs. Minnesota Lynx.

In game 3 of the West Semis [ win or go home game ], the San Antonio Silverstars, led by Becky Hammon, raced to an early lead in the first quarter against the Minnesota Lynx. But eventually the number one seed in the West slowly got their game back and was able to come back and take control. They were led by Simone Augustus who had 22 points and the Lynx beat the Silver Stars 85-67 on Tuesday night for the first playoff series victory in franchise history. They now face the Phoenix Mercury, led by Diana Taurasi, who eliminated the defending champion Seattle Storm.

In the East semis, another do or die game was held between the Indiana Fever and the New York Liberty. Forward Katie Douglas dominated the game in the defensive end and the offensive end. Leading the charge with 21 points, averaged 22 points in the series, and shutting down Liberty's Cappie Pondexter, who dealt the fever heart breaks over the years,  to a poor 4-14 from the field. They win 72-62 to advance. They now face the Atlanta Dream who swept the Connecticut Sun in their first round matchup.

WNBA Conference Finals start tomorrow.
