Petron banked on a scorching third quarter run to mow down Talk `N Text, 105-83, and even the PBA Governors Cup Finals in Sunday night’s Game 4 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Import Anthony Grundy teamed up with Arwind Santos, Denok Miranda and Alex Cabagnot during that mighty offensive blast by the Boosters, when they outscored the Tropang Texters in that stretch, 33-12.

By the time they were through with the run, Petron’s slim three-point lead at the break had suddenly ballooned to 86-62 entering the final 12 minutes of play.

Santos, who earlier lost to Jimmy Alapag in the fight for the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, was back in his usual self for the Boosters after held to just three points in Game 3. The lanky power forward finished with 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and grabbed 14 rebounds.

Miranda played his best game of the best-of-seven series with 19 (7-of-14), while Grundy and Cabagnot had 16 each. Grundy accounted for 11 points when the Boosters ripped the game apart in the third period.

The title series is now tied at 2-game apiece, with the crucial Game 5 set on Wednesday also at the Big Dome.

Turnovers did the Tropang Texters as they committed 18 to the 13 of the Boosters, although seven of those came at a time when Petron was in the midst of its huge second half run.

Jason Castro showed the way for Talk `N Text with 17 points, Ryan Reyes with 16 and import Scottie Reynolds 12.

But a big letdown was Alapag, the season MVP, who was held to only two points in the first three quarters of play. The Talk `N Text starting point guard finished with eight. -- OMG, GMA News
