Manila - The game that supposed to make history for Philippine Football came Sunday. And our National Team did just that.

The Philippine team came into Manila tied 1-1 on aggregate. To start the match, rain came pouring. And the goals also did. The Azkals scored 4 goals to win convincingly 4-0 against the Sri Lanka Brave Reds. Chieffy Caligdong started the scoring spree early with a strike from the penalty box off a pass from Phil Younghusband. Phil then scored his own goal late in the first half to put the Azkals 2-0. Angel Guirado did not want to be outdone. He too joined the goal party with a break away from the defense and left the goalie in the dust to score early in the second half. The last goal by the Azkals was from Phil Younghusband, his second of the game, via a free kick in the 60th minute to put the "cherry on the sundae". The Azkals next faces Kuwait in the second round of the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers.
